This privacy policy describes how information is handled when you use the Weather Signal mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Information Collection
Weather Signal does not collect personally identifiable information from users. The application does not require account creation or the submission of personal data.
Location Data
Weather Signal uses your device's location to retrieve environmental condition data relevant to your current area. This includes air quality, pollen levels, water conditions, fire activity, and weather forecasts.
- Location data is used on-device to make API requests
- Location data is not stored, logged, or transmitted to Morton Software Group
- Location access can be managed at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
Weather Signal requests location permission only to deliver accurate, location-relevant environmental data.
Third-Party Data Sources
Weather Signal retrieves environmental data from third-party APIs and public data sources, which may include:
- Apple WeatherKit — weather forecasts and severe weather alerts
- Google Pollen API — pollen count and forecast data
- Open-Meteo — marine condition and wave data
- National Weather Service (NWS) — weather alerts and notifications
- AirNow / EPA — air quality index data
- NASA open data services — fire and environmental data
- NOAA CO-OPS — tide predictions and coastal data
These services provide environmental data in response to location-based requests. Morton Software Group does not share user data with these providers beyond the coordinates necessary to fulfill each data request. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details on their data practices.
Analytics
Weather Signal does not collect analytics data. Morton Software Group does not use any third-party analytics SDK or tracking service within the application. No usage statistics, feature interaction data, or device identifiers are collected or transmitted.
Children's Privacy
Weather Signal does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will address the issue promptly.
