Privacy Policy.
About This Policy
Lawn Pulse is developed and published by Morton Software Group LLC.
This privacy policy describes how information is handled when you use the Lawn Pulse mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about our data practices — including those of the third-party services that power the app's core features.
Information We Collect
Morton Software Group does not collect personally identifiable information. Lawn Pulse does not require account creation, email registration, or the submission of personal data to Morton Software Group.
All data you enter into Lawn Pulse — including your grass type, lawn size, location, application logs, and photos — is stored locally on your device using Apple SwiftData and is not transmitted to Morton Software Group servers.
Location Data
Lawn Pulse uses your device location or ZIP code to retrieve real-time soil temperature estimates, weather conditions, and to generate personalized lawn care recommendations. Location data powers the core experience of the app.
- Location data is used on-device to make API requests to Apple WeatherKit
- Location coordinates are not stored, logged, or transmitted to Morton Software Group
- Location access can be managed at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Lawn Pulse
- You may alternatively enter a ZIP code during onboarding in place of device location
Camera & Photo Access
Lawn Pulse includes a feature called Lawn Lens, which uses your device camera or photo library to analyze lawn conditions, identify weeds, and read product labels. Photos captured or selected through Lawn Lens are transmitted to Google Gemini for AI analysis.
- Photos are sent to Google Gemini's API solely to generate analysis results
- Photos are not stored, retained, or transmitted to Morton Software Group
- On the free tier of the Gemini API, Google may use submitted photos to improve their AI models — see Section 05 for details
- Camera and photo library access can be managed in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera / Photos
Weather Data — Apple WeatherKit
Lawn Pulse retrieves weather and environmental data through Apple WeatherKit, including air temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall, and derived soil temperature estimates.
- WeatherKit requests are made on-device using your location coordinates
- Morton Software Group does not receive or store any WeatherKit response data on external servers
- Apple's data practices for WeatherKit are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
AI Features — Google Gemini
Lawn Pulse's AI chat (LawnAI Chat) and photo analysis (Lawn Lens) features are powered by Google Gemini. When you submit a message or photo through these features, that content is transmitted to Google's Gemini API for processing.
- AI chat messages are sent to Google Gemini and are not stored by Morton Software Group
- Photos submitted through Lawn Lens are sent to Google Gemini and are not stored by Morton Software Group
- Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms
- Morton Software Group does not share any additional user data with Google beyond what is included in each API request
The attribution "AI powered by Google Gemini" appears within the application wherever AI features are used, in compliance with Google's attribution requirements.
In-App Purchases
Lawn Pulse offers optional premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase through Apple's App Store. All purchase transactions are processed exclusively by Apple through StoreKit. Morton Software Group does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
- Purchase and billing data is handled entirely by Apple
- Morton Software Group receives only a confirmation of purchase status from Apple's StoreKit framework
- Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
Push Notifications
Lawn Pulse may request permission to send push notifications to alert you when your lawn reaches a soil temperature milestone or when a new care window opens. Notification permission is optional and is requested during onboarding.
- Notifications are scheduled locally on your device based on weather data — no server is involved
- Notification permission can be managed at any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Lawn Pulse
Analytics
Lawn Pulse does not integrate any third-party analytics SDK or tracking service. Morton Software Group does not collect usage statistics, feature interaction data, crash telemetry from third parties, or device identifiers. No behavioral tracking occurs within the application.
Children's Privacy
Lawn Pulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through an AI feature, please contact us and we will address the matter promptly.
Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the application or applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Lawn Pulse following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
